Eddie Guerrero Tribute





Viva Lazraza tribute by John Mikels


I remember Eddie during his WCW Days when he was in the cruiserweight
Division I was also interested in watching there cruiserweight division than
The WWE’s version of the cruiserweights€¦ however I didn't become a real fan of
Eddie until he got to the WWE and he had some major runs with the company but my
All-time favorite is Lie, Cheat, and Steal€¦ He was real over with that angle and
Each and every match involving the storyline was entertaining... I was lucky
Enough to see him live at the WWE No Way out pay per view on February 20,
2005.…9 months before he passed away and saw up front him winning the match due
To his cheating ways and even better when he and Rey mystrio won the tag team
Titles in that match€¦
I would of never thought in a million years at this point in the game that
Eddie would pass away less than a year later. I actually found out his death on
The insane board and believe it or not, I thought it was another Eddie Guerrero
Prank or something but sure enough it was all over the internet€¦It breaks my
Heart because Eddie was in his prime and peak of being the Main event and was
Even going to be WWE World champion soon€¦ Eddie has and will always be champion
In my eyes, He was such a great performer and a one of a kind guy in the ring€¦
after his death, WWE exploited his memory in many storylines... At first I was
Disgusted with the WWE's decision and bringing in Vicki Guerrero into the
Storylines …Than I thought about it and even though I don't know Eddie
Personally, I do know by growing up watching him that he would want it that way
And still be active in wrestling after his life€¦That way his memory can still
Live on and Eddie won't be forgotten and due to that thanks to WWE, Vicki,
Chavo, and soon his daughter when she makes it to the roster
Eddie will forever live within our hearts

--May… Eddie Guerrero was sent to rehab due to addiction to pain medicine from a 1999 car accident…… To explain his absence from WWF, a storyline was created where Guerrero was "injured" by Prince Albert in a match

--November 9, Eddie Guerrero was arrested for drunk driving… He had crashed his car into a gate of an apartment complex in Tampa, causing 500 dollars’ worth of damages…according to the Tampa Tribune; he failed two breath tests….

--November 12, Guerrero subsequently was released by the WWF


2002


--Eddie Guerrero had his 3rd daughter Kaylie Marie Guerrero with a woman by the name of Tara Mahoney. He and Vicki were separated at the time of this situation and he broke up with Tara before Kaylie was born and got back together with Vicki and renewed their wedding vows

--In the Main event at WrestleMania 20,  Chris Benoit won the WWE Championship in a triple threat against Triple H & Shawn Michaels and while in the middle of the ring celebrating with his Wife Nancy Benoit and three kids, Smack-down Champion Eddie Guerrero came down to celebrate making it an Emotional Moment in WWE History

--February 20, WWE No Way Out……Insane Plan’s exclusive live report…Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mystrio beat the Bashem Brothers for the WWE Tag Team Titles….The opening Match of the PPV was the match that stopped the show.. It was full of entertainment and all four men gave it their 100 percent… I was honor to be in attendance and see this great match

He then made a challenge to Rey at great American bash and if he loses, he won’t reveal the secret until July 24, WWE Great American Bash…Eddie Guerrero loses to Rey Mystrio JR.

--Although that turned out to be a lie and revealed the secret any ways that Rey Mystrio‘s son Dominick is actually the biological son of Eddie



--August 24, Summer Slam…. Rey Mystrio beat Eddie Guerrero in custody of Dominick Ladder Match when Vicki Guerrero interfered



--October 9, WWE No Mercy…World Champion Batista beat Eddie Guerrero

--November 11, in his Final WWE Match…Eddie Guerrero beat Mr. Kennedy for the spot on the Smack-down Survivor Series team

--November 13, Eddie Guerrero dies of a Heart Attack at age 38, in Minneapolis hotel room, Guerrero was supposed to win the WWE Championship from Batista at the time of his death, he is survived by his wife Vickie and three daughters. Which one of them is a WWE Diva Hopeful?

--Eddie was found by his nephew Chavo.. Chavo attempted CPR but was pronounced dead when the paramedics arrived

--The Evening of his death…The rival TNA dedicated there Genesis PPV in his honor

--Guerrero has also been featured in the game WWE Smack-Down! vs. Raw 2006, which was completed during mid-2005 and Eddie provides his own voice. The game attracted some minor controversy due to an in-game story where Eddie is placed into a coffin by The Undertaker. The coincidence was more resounding in the United Kingdom, where the game was released during the week of Guerrero's death.

--November 14, Episode of Raw…Was an Eddie Guerrero Tribute when the start of the show, showed the whole roster come out for the 10 bell salute and many most notably Chris Benoit, Chavo Guerrero, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, & Rey Mystrio who all were sobbing as they were telling there tales of Eddie Guerrero

--November 18, episode of Smack-down....Eddie Guerrero’s home brand did the same tribute only different stars telling there tales of Eddie Guerrero… no one was force to perform but Chavo Guerrero did wrestle and finished the match with Eddie’s famous finisher the Frog splash

--November 30, on WWE.COM’s episode of Byte This….Chavo stated that Eddie had been working hard and was at his peak as a result doing cardiovascular and weight training exercises every day


2006


--February 6, WWE Launches the Wellness Policy.. To make random drug testing to the roster…4 times a year. Vince McMahon stated he doesn’t want a repeat of Eddie Guerrero to happen again

--April 1, Eddie Guerrero is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his nephew Chavo Guerrero, Friends Rey Mystrio Jr. and Chris Benoit.. The award was accepted by his wife Vicki and two of the three daughters

----This is also the same class that inducted the Blackjacks, Bret Hart, Sensational Sherri, Mean Gene, & Verne Gangne into the hall of fame

--April 2, Wrestlemania 22., Eddie Guerrero was introduced  in the 2006 Hall of fame class which Vicki Guerrero coming out to a standing ovation

2007


--March 19, 2007, Sports Illustrated posted on its website an article in its continuing series investigating a steroid and hGH ring used by a number of professional athletes in several sports. This article mentioned several current and former WWE wrestlers, including Guerrero who was alleged to have obtained hCG and the steroid stanozolol in early 2005.  At the time of the alleged steroid usage, the WWE had not yet instituted its Wellness Policy in which wrestlers are tested for substances, which was started by WWE.com on the day the article was released.

--June 22, 2007 Former WCW & ECW Valet of Ric Flair, The Sandman, Doom, Chris Benoit, & Kevin Sullivan was killed along with her son 7 year old Daniel by her Husband former WWE Champion Chris Benoit, She was 43 at the time of her death

--Eddie Guerrero was inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame with Vicki Guerrero in mind to accept the award on his behalf but due to her contractual status with the WWE, she was not permitted to appear at the Event… therefor his older brother Chavo Guerrero sr appeared instead to accept the honor

--March 28, WrestleMania 26… Vicki Competed in a 10 Diva tag team match and ended it by winning for her team as she looked up in the sky, shake like Eddie, and performed a frog splash on Kelly Kelly in his honor

--October 22, Eddie Guerrero’s Daughter Raquel Diaz sign with the WWE to a developmental contract making her along with Chavo Guerrero jr a 3rd generation star

--November 15, "Old School" episode of WWE Raw, WWE Legend and Eddie's older brother Chavo Guerrero, Sr. (aka Chavo Classic) gestured to the sky and shouted "Eddie!" as he was introduced.


2011


--January 30, Before the Royal Rumble PPV event, WWE Aired highlights of all the Hall of Famers that completed in the event from the past including Eddie Guerrero

--June 23,Stephine McMahon confronted Vici Guerrero on Raw to fire Vicki AS gm but Vicki begged  for a 2nd chance  and only way Vicki can win if she beats Alicia fox Layla, & Rosa Mendes in a no DQ match held in a pool of mud.
the only way to win is if you get thrown  in the mud. Once Vicki eliminated  all three.. Stephanie snuck behind Vicki and pushed her in the mud ending her career..

--December, Rehwoldt better known as Aiden English became engaged to former professional wrestler Shaul Guerrero, the daughter of Vickie Guerrero and the late Eddie Guerrero.


2015
--June 18, 2015, Vickie announced her engagement to partner Kris Benson...
-- September 12th the two were married


2016
-- July 4,episode of Raw, Vickie returned to WWE as a villainess once again, announcing her intentions to become the new SmackDown General Manager after the WWE Brand Extension returns on July 19; however, she was escorted out of the arena by two security guards. While being escorted out, Vickie encountered Dolph Ziggler backstage, who denied knowing her at all.


2017
--February 17,Chavo Guerrero Sr, the older brother of Eddy died of liver cancer, at the age of 68
-- April 5, English's partner Simon Gotch was released from WWE.


2018
--January 18,  Royal Rumble, Guerrero made a surprise entrance at number 16 during the first women's Royal Rumble match, in which she was eliminated by Becky Lynch, Michelle McCool, Ruby Riott, & Sasha Banks in 57 seconds. Afterwards, she attacked Carmella, who entered at number 17, by hitting her with her Money in the Bank briefcase.


2019 
--February 18,  Shaul Guerrero made her return to professional wrestling as a commentator at the Reality of Wrestling event, Ladies Night Out.
--September, Guerrero signed a contract with Women of Wrestling to work as ring announcer.
--Shaul Guerrero started performing burlesque in the Chicago area under the stage name Miss Nyxon. That same year, she appeared in the annual Maxim Cover Girl social media contest, finishing third in the Southwest Group Twelve.
