Raw is Old School

It’s great to get this column back on the website and not the usual when I talk about a show I am on or discussing the annual website once a year…

It’s been a crazy year so far and we still only got a month left of it…

To Recap the year and review real quick… Insane Plan conducted interviews this past year with former WWE, WCW, ECW, XPW, & TNA alumni with stars such as Lady Blossom, Molly Holly, Taylor Vaughn, Jamie D, Christian York, Fifi, & April Hunter… Insane Plan also shifted from the work of the website to being live such as an hour and a half on Trash Talking Radio, and making appearances in cross over work with 1CW and Covey doing guest ring announcing, Run in’s and Live Reports..

During my adventure I got to meet, greet, work with, and hang out with stars such as Axl Rotten, Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Christian York, Hurricane Helms, Julenio Denero, Shane Douglas, Tatanka, Sunny and so many more..

Although this adventure had it’s up and down’s, I would not trade this experience for anything in this world…

I also faced turmoil as I relocated to Baltimore, traveled on the road, did odd jobs as a landscaper & Metal Scrapper to make enough just to eat and smoke a pack of cigarettes, Lost my laptop due to not been able to afford it, was in a severe car accident that messed up my shoulder, neck, & ribs and now facing a lawsuit against the other driver who caused the accident, Lost a loved one who was involved in the accident a month after and than I relocated to a small town in the mountains of West Virginia and have been jobless with my time shifted in the work of Tattoo’s just to get by..

It’s been a crazy year in the life of John Mikels inside and outside of the Pro wrestling Business but I am still doing a lot of work in the Business as I am in negations to make appearances for feds in West Virginia, Tennessee, & New York and many surprises for the up coming 10th anniversary of Insane Plan.. Already confirmed is an interview with former WWE Women’s champion… so you can only imagine how Insane this update’s going to be.

Okay enough with me personally and on to Monday is old school this past Monday night on WWE Raw or should I say WWF Raw… Watching WWE go back to the way WWF use to be, brought back many memories.. The Opening credits, the blue steps, the vintage logo’s, the Promo’s, Manager’s at ringside, and of course the return of legends….

I truly believe WWE Should bring back what was at one point old school like Manager’s at ringside… That was a great experience as a child to grow up and watch the likes of Jimmy hart, Bobby the Brain, Harvy Wipplemen, DR. of Style Slick, Jim Cornette, Mr. Fuji. And so many more. This is sports entertainment and what better way to entertain the fans with managers making the star’s stand out, interfere, and take bumps .. WWE is on the right track bringing back Paul Bearer but they need to bring a few more to help the newer talent in the WWE

Another great thing was Tito Santana’s appearance which he will be booked for my Home Fed In your Face Wrestling on December 11th in a tag team match pitting him and Vigo against Max Burton and the beat Pierre Vachon, all who I have interviewed at one point on Insane Plan

If that wasn’t enough…. Tatanka making an appearance in a backstage cameo.. He is truly RAW is old school. I got the pleasure of watching his work on Covey Pro in West Virginia when he was training students prior to his match against Shane Douglas w/Sunny!

Also on my adventure on the road, I worked with Jimmy The Superfly Snuka in Delaware which is where he retired wrestling in the main event, he made a return only as a manager alongside Tamlia this past Monday which saw there team the uso’s loose… something that was disappointing to see

Than seeing my all time favorites Mean Gene make a comeback for the night… He truly is the Voice of the WWE, would love to see him back on a fulltime scale..

What was also surprising to see was a promo by the late lord Alfred Hayes, WWE Somehow was able to bring back his old promo clip and made it work which was great as jerry the king lawler said, there is life after death..

Speaking of death, one thing I was glad but in the same sense wasn’t was the mention of Macho Man Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth compared to the currant couple of Dolph Ziggler and Vicki Gurrero.. I am always in support for a couple of today’s wrestling but don’t hold it as the same caliber as Macho Man and Elizabeth esp. Doulph and Vicki

This Monday also Marked history as Mae Young defeated Lay-Cool making her the first and only wrestler to have a record match at least one or more in each decade.. And of Monday.. She has competed in nine!

Raw is old school also witness what use to be popular is tag partners turn on each other such as Tyson Kid did with DH Smith… they had a great run as a Tag Team but would love to see DH Break out as a single wrestler the same way His father the late British Bulldog did..

Than the surprise return of the Animal George Steel.. A bizarre personality we will always remember and love!!

Over and all RAW is old school was a great way to go down in memory lane and saw a lot of icons and legends return for one night only which most I would hope come back on a semi fulltime scale for just one more run!

You can go to In the corner with Nay Nay to read the full recaps of Monday is old school..

To get back to what’s insane… you can also check out Brittany’s news page with an added feature Insane’s Youtube Central which includes videos of my time in First State Championship Wrestling, as well as tributes of my life outside of wrestling and promos of Insane’s own Crazii Shea and Alexandra…

Thank you all for keeping me insane,
Til next time
